Do you know that Christian Louboutin & YSL both use the red sole signature trademark for their shoe labels?
There's been a conflict of interest as to who retains the red sole signature trademark. It was the subject of a law suit which has been ongoing for over a year now. YSL was sued by Christian Louboutin for making an all-red collection of pumps with matching soles.
The court said it was ok for YSL to keep the red soles, in as much as upper body of the shoes are red, but Louboutin can vary its upper body colors yet maintain their signature red soles. Somehow YSL has narrowed Louboutins trademark to apply only to shoes with different upper body color. Looks like a win-win situation to me.
What do you think?
Here's what both soles look like.

I can't begin to imagine if there was no such thing as a belt, hmmnn sounds weird right?
Belts are essential in any wardrobe and used by both male and female gender. This waist accessory, provides a finished look for an outfit. Some helpful tips for men and women when belt shopping:
- The size of the belt - belts provide a good proportion to your body, so you need to check it fits just right. Ideally, Its length should be slightly longer than your waistline.
- The width of the belt - this should probably depend on the type of clothes being worn. Usually belts two inches and less in width size are suitable for formal outfits especially suits, while belts wider than 2 inches look best on casuals.
- For the male folk, you should make sure that the belt you choose matches your shoes perfectly especially on formal wears.
- Then comes the buckle, aka the most attractive part of the belt. You can choose different buckles depending on the occasion, mood and personal style.
- Your budget largely determines the kind of belt you'll be looking out for in terms of quality of leather, designer or other materials. Usually the designer brands cost more, however most of them are worth the investment since their components are carefully selected.
Belts are an everyday essential accessory and they send a message about you, so ensure to make the right choices when buying a belt.Have a fab week!!!
Lately, I've been attracted to the houndstooth or dogstooth pattern. This pattern of fabric has its roots in Scottish history and dates as far back as the 1800's originally made of woven wool and was worn by the upper class in the 1930's symbolizing wealth. As a result of this, wearing the houndstooth actually made it possible for people to build wider networks and business connections at social events back then. (Interesting!)
It's traditional form was in black and white duo tones, but has been recreated in brighter and more playful colors. Designers such as Christian Dior, Anne Klein, Geoffrey Beene, Chanel amongst others have used it in many of their collections till date, and it keeps getting re-invented from over time.
So get your houndstooth outfit now, I just did. *Winks* ;)

Happy Independence day friends!!!
Hello friends, wooo hooo hooo, its mid-week already!!!! Sure you all are having a great week! Its been a beautiful one for me, though quite hectic.
So I got this pair of nude shoes with leopard print overlap which I totally love and decided to pair with a leopard print top and cropped pants to make up an outfit. Please be careful when mixing prints such as this because it can be quite tricky since"less is more".

The anomalous hemline also referred to as dip hem, asymmetrical hem, hi-low hem
has taken centre stage in the fashion scene lately and comes in form of tops, dresses, blazers, shirt dresses.
Anomalous means deviating from or inconsistent with the common order, form, or rule; irregular. I think that definition pretty much describes the hemline.
It's a versatile style and can be worn in a variety of ways and mix of fabrics such as lace, floral, sheer. Its irregular length behind or at the sides brings to mind some gypsy style of the 19th century. For this outfit, variations in the back lenght determines the occassion (formal or informal) at hand. Won't forget to mention that it also looks fab in our traditional fabrics.
This trend in dress form can be worn in several ways for multiple events. Perfect for lunch with the girls, accesorized with tiny stud belts, sandals, (flats or high-heeled)for a more casual finish; or worn with a blazer, round toe or pointed heels for a formal event. As a top, can be worn with a pair of skinny pants preferably since most styles for tops come in loose fit.
The loose skirt design looks smarter when paired with a snug fit top, either tucked in or resting on the waist band. It has a lot of versatility in the fashionista's wardrobe and can be worn all year round with heels and sandals.

So I will be taking all my readers through an exciting blog which I have chosen to call the CUBED WOMAN . She's that woman who thinks all aspects of her life are as important, despite the many responsibilities life has served her with still finds time to pay attention to her personal style.
That woman could be "you" or" me, think about it!
