The anomalous hemline

The anomalous hemline also referred to as dip hem, asymmetrical hem, hi-low hem

 has taken centre stage in the fashion scene lately and comes in form of tops, dresses, blazers, shirt dresses.

Anomalous means deviating from or inconsistent with the common order, form, or rule; irregular. I think that definition pretty much describes the hemline.
 

It's a versatile style and can be worn in a variety of ways and mix of fabrics such as lace, floral, sheer. Its irregular length behind or at the sides brings to mind some gypsy style of the 19th century. For this outfit, variations in the back lenght determines the occassion (formal or informal) at hand. Won't forget to mention that it also looks fab in our traditional fabrics.

This trend in dress form can be worn in several ways for multiple events. Perfect for lunch with the girls, accesorized with tiny stud belts, sandals, (flats or high-heeled)for a more casual finish; or worn with a blazer, round toe or pointed heels for a formal event. As a top, can be worn with a pair of skinny pants preferably since most styles for tops come in loose fit.

The loose skirt design looks smarter when paired with a snug fit top, either tucked in or resting on the waist band. It has a lot of versatility in the fashionista's wardrobe and can be worn all year round with heels and sandals.
